Avoriaz Mountain Biking
Avoriaz and the Portes du Soleil area is known as the mountain biking hot spot in Europe. Avoriaz, and in particular, its neighbors Morzine and Les Gets, have some of the best Downhill and Cross Country Trails around and draw Mountain Bikers from around the globe. The area has some of the most exciting and challenging trails for the more advanced bikers but novices can certainly find trails for their ability level.
During the summertime, there are 24 lifts open to mountain bikers and hikers giving access to over 650km of trails. In the Portes du Soleil and Avoriaz area, there are ten downhill courses and four bike parks!
If you have a bit of flexibility in your vacation planning, think about visiting Avoriaz during the Pass'Portes du Soleil event. This is the famous MTB trek around France and Switzerland often held towards the end of June. There are 3 different circuits for participants (35, 50 and 75km) and lots of refreshments and entertainment. Not to mention the great parties! Click here for more info!
